Field Service Engineer

We are looking for a motivated field service specialist to support customers across the West Coast (primarily California to Texas) with technical service and onsite assistance. You will be part of a dynamic team, ensuring smooth installations, troubleshooting, and repairs of advanced instrumentation. Expect up to 90% travel, including some consecutive overnight stays, and initial training in New Jersey for 3-4 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite and remote technical support for customers, field service engineers, and affiliates across the West Coast region.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with advanced instrumentation and computer systems.
  • Perform product installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Manage service cases and maintain accurate records using ServiceMax.
  • Train customers on equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Participate in monthly training at our New Jersey office during the first 6-12 months to develop expertise in our products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, R&D, and production, to ensure customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in electronics and computer systems, with hands-on experience in PC repair and operating systems.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical or field service role.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve both hardware and software issues.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including consecutive overnight stays, and to undergo training in New Jersey for several weeks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, SAP, and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Knowledge of optical systems or spectroscopy is a bonus but not required.
