Patient Demography: Male, 58 years old
Diagnosis: B-cell lymphoma (Burkitt Type)
Other Information: The patient is a known case of B-cell lymphoma under treatment.
Microscopic Review: Neutrophils: 3%, Lymphocytes:47%, Monocytes: 1%, Eosinophils: 1%. Atypical lymphocytes: 48%, characterized by monomorphic intermediate-sized cells with basophilic cytoplasm, some showing vacuolations and non-cleaved nucleus with nucleoli.
How Yumizen Can Assist: On the DIFF scattergram, we observe the presence of the lymphoblast/lymphoma cell population especially in the atypical lymphocyte area. The ALY parameter is markedly above its normal range, indicating the need to look for atypical lymphocytes like lymphoblast/lymphoma cells. The ALY parameter can be used as a delta check for patients undergoing chemotherapy/follow-up for hematolymphoid malignancies.
